1kg of mince - best base to use?

Morning all,
I've been lurking for a long time (mostly during the day as my job has been keeping me less than busy - but that is another post) and I thought now was a good time to ask for some help!
I bought 2 x 1kg of mince last week and stupidly froze 1kg before splitting it. Need to defrost it and get it cooked but don't want to make it into one meal. Is there a tasty but fool-proof base sauce I can use (ie tomatoes etc) before I make it into lasagne/cottage pie/chilli?
Thanks
Nicky

What I would do is chop some onions and cook till soft, add the mince and maybe add a tin or two of chopped tomatoes and some garlic. Then when its cooked and cooled through you can freeze again in individual portions. You can use this for cottage pie, spag bol, pasta dish, lasagna, pies etc.

Morning,
i'd do what caca has advised, my only addition would be to add a good handful of red lentils, wee handful of porridge oats and bit of minced veg. This just bulks it out a bit more to give you a few extra portions.:money:
Hope this helps:j0 -
I use this Batch Bake recipe with 500g mince in my small (3.5l MR) slow cooker so I half all the ingredients listed... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I'd do this aswell but i would add 2 carrots grated to bulk it out and add a bit more flavour0
