cellophane

hi all,

just been reading through all your ideas for christmas and i am addicted already.

i have started doing some hampers and have bought the cellophane off ebay and am stuck as to how to wrap them up.

could someone please tell me how to gather the cellophane without it looking bulky?

also how do you make or where can you buy the cellophane cones to make the snowman soup.

I bought cellophane cones from ebay. I haven't got round to wrapping up hampers yet so I will be watching your post for tips too.

I bought my cones from eBay and will start making snowman soup this weekend.

I have also made five pots of gold and twenty hampers for friends and family. I've just started to wrap them in cellophane and, like you, I have never done this before. First of all I went onto you tube and put in 'how cellophane gift'. This helped a lot. I did find it difficult wrapping larger items, where the cellophane wasn't wide enough to go over the present, but I gathered up the shorter bits first and sellotaped them to the rest of the cellophane, before gathering it all up-sorry it's very difficult to describe and it may not even be right, but the end result still looks pretty good.

If anyone out there can give any more pointers, that would be great.

Don't know if I can explain this any better but do as said above with the short bits and tape down but do it in pleats so it fits the hamper and what I did is twist the excess cello and tape it and add the bow where the tape is. Does that make sense I know what I mean honest:rotfl:

The last hamper I did ..... I didn't gather the cellophane at the top cos it didn't meet very well. I wrapped it with the join at the bottom and then tucked the sides underneath and taped it at the bottom. Does that make sense? Here is a pic. I thought it worked better for this hamper as the basket was quite deep and my cellophane isn't very wide.
