Just to add the shop in Leicester has its sale on now, bought a couple of things last night

i'm annoyed cos i don't have transport and v rarely get 2 a store.thought i'd use my gold member's card so i rang 2 ask wot 2 do.gave the guy my details and he said i had 2 get the card re-activated-ring ne store.rang a store and was told that those cards were dun away with in May and it's a totally diff system now.so won't get an xtra 10% off.

Went to the Middlesbrough store and there were lots of bargains e.g £20 silk ties reduced to £4, lovely jewellery/cuff links, Parker pens, and all the other obvious things that they sell. It was very busy and clearly people are buying presents for Christmas etc. It is worth a visit!

Just wanted to say the members card (which was just coloured gold!) only ever gave a 5% discount. It's been replaced by a different system as the new owners have decided that they want to move aay from the customer base that has appeared in their stores.
They want to get back to the more exclusive stocks and customer, essentially meaning they can charge higher prices, and the director said at a managers meeting, "some people only shop here because of the discount, if they cant afford to shop here without it, then theyre not the peopl we want shopping here".

I'm not saying I agree but just to explain as to why its happened. Exactly who did you ring who said it had to be re-activated?
