Bad credit loan advice

Hey guys, i'm new here and was hoping to get some advice. I'm looking for a loan for bad credit, I don't think my credit is that bad, in March my credit score was 650 a few months before that i was offered a loan by HSBC for £3,000 but i didn't take it as i didn't need it at the time and now i do HSBC say i can't be accepted for a loan which is really frustrating as the only reason my credit score has gone down is because my maternity pay and child tax credits weren't paid on time which isn't my fault, but has affected my credit...

I've looked into poor credit loans and they're all scams and luckily enough i haven't paid any upfront fees, i know provident help out people with poor credit, but i'm not willing to pay £60 a month for a lousy £500. I have a good relationship with my bank manager so was wondering if banks offer a higher interest loan? I am able to pay back a loan as i have a good income.

Thanks

Does this mean you had some late payments? Maybe its worth going to talk to your bank. Mine gave me some very good advice about rebuilding my internal credit score. Also if you took in your statements showing how the late payments into your account affected your ability to pay it might help.
If that didn't work you could post up more details and an SOA on the DFW board and get some advise on how to acheive your aims without getting a loan. You say you're on a good wage so it might be a question of saving for a few months - depends on how much the loan is and what its for.

    One life.
  • Yeah they were late payments, i had to keep contacting child tax asking where my money was they back dated, but the damage had already been done. I'm looking for £2000 for a car i was thinking of car finance, but i suppose you need credit checks for that also.

As you have a good income would it be possible to just save the £2,000 given it's such a small amount?
  • Well £2,000 is quiete a lot to save when you have a child and idealy i'd like a car by christmas because i'm going back to work in Jan.
