Abbey Local printing of offer

Hi
Abbey have finally sent the morgage offer to the FTB a couple of weeks ago. At the beginning of this week; after saying they were ready to exchange; they noticed the name was spelled incorrectly and had to order a new one. Due to the postal strikes there is no chance of it getting there today, and someone is saying they will pull out unless we exchange today.
Could the FTB request that they could pick up the newly amended offer from a local branch; or does this sound too efficient for them? Surely they should be able to access the same records and print facilities.
Thanks very much

Even easier, I would think it could be faxed over and authenticated by the branch?0

Cracking Abbey, get something wrong, then dont give a !!!! about sorting it out!
Have you tried getting the broker who set it up for you to put a bit of weight behind it? They could get onto the BDM and push for a fax. However it is quite posible the BDM wouldnt have the authority to force them to fax it (or even have a BDM for the area!)

Whoever told you they wouldn't fax it is talking rubbish. Of course the mortgage centre will fax it to the solicitors and the branch if requested. However, the solicitor will not normally act on a faxed copy - that may be the reasonI am a Mortgage Adviser
