Electoral roll??

Is it essential to be on the electoral roll for a mortgage application??
Reason I ask is we're not sure my girlfriend is (she actually filled the forms in last week but I doubt the system is updated that regularly). We have a meeting with Natwest next week about a mortgage application and this is the only thing I can see going against us. (both on 900's in credit score, affordability calcs have been fine, 10% deposit sorted)
I know its an issue with some lenders, does anyone know if Natwest is one of them? Is it even worth going to the meeting??

It certainly helps but is not 'essential'
They may ask you to explain why she is not registered.0
