Ambulance chasers!

Thanks for all the info! I have recommended she hold off and not sign up to anything until she's talked to her partner, his union solicitor, and her insurance. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole myself, but I find it very hard to tell my sister what to do!!!0

I think these ambulance chasers are disgraceful. Nearly as bad was when I had an accident on my bicycle and had to go to hospital to get a head injury checked out.
The hospital gave a 'head injury' leaflet, on the back of which was an advert for a legal firm for personal injury claims. To me, that just encourages false claims.Sometimes I feel like a pelican. Whichever way I turn, I've still got an enormous bill in front of me.0 -

There wouldn't be a claim if no-one was hurt.
Chickpea - There is no need to go through these 'ambulance-chasing' companies. Almost any half-decent high street law practice will offer a free short initial interview and give you advice on whether a claim is worth pursuing. The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics(sic) or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.

Is your sister really considering claiming when there's a strong possibility she will lose or not get anything?! She has already admitted to doing something illegal, which surely would go against her from the beginning.
I agree with southernscouser, would you like to be on the receiving end of a claim? I really don't understand the 'compensation culture', especially when it comes to road traffic accidents. People know the risks of driving, but still choose to do it...0 -
But you said that there was fault on both parts. If she starts a claim you can be bloody sure he will and she will loose as much as she would gain or in a worse case sinario loose a lot. She should just leave it. We're turning into Americans!Current Mortgage - £156,633:eek:Expecting baby no. one on 27th Oct 20100

Obviously, I can only advise so far, it's her life after all...but I have been trying to get some of these points across, without looking like I'm trying to dictate/interfere!
And folks - drive carefully out there!0 -

I think my law degree might well disprove this. The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics(sic) or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.
