Will I be told off or refused BR????

Can you please advise me with your thoughts and knowlege?

When I give in my 6 months statements it will clearly show I spent some money while abroad a few months ago. This was my redundancy money.

It's only the last week or so I realised I have to go bankrupt and not because of my trip but because of my debt I incurred over the last several years.

You might say why didn't I use my redundancy money on my debt but it was only a small amount and my debt is hugh. I didn't see how I was ever going to come into money like that again to go away since I never saw money from my wage each month.

What will the OR say once he notices these spending? Will it go against me in anyway?

Also, does anyone know am I wasting my time retraining to work as a paralegal/legal assistant in the finance sector, if I'm bankrupt?

Another thing, my partner lives abroad, (hence some of the spending on travelling to see him), after bankruptcy would it follow me to the states or can I start again after discharge?

Thanks for your your replies and advice!

If your outgoings (including full debt repayments) are more than your income then you are insolvent and can go bankrupt.

The OR is not there to judge, just to find out the facts. The absolute worst that could hapen would be a BRU/BRO if it was decided that you could have avoided the situation. But as you stated this money has been spent on visiting your boyfriend and if it really is a drop in the ocean compared to your debts I can't see the OR having a problem with it.

Sorry can't help with your other questions.

You should seek proffesional advice from one of the debts charities that you can find here.
