Maybe the person phoning was trying to keep her informed.

Of course she is in the same boat as everyone else! It's not her company's fault that she is going through a lengthy separation and divorce, and why on earth should her working colleagues be any more at risk than her. And, with all due respect, she is obviously not too stressed about the situation if she already has you as a new partner.0
