How leniant are Abbey

Options
We are in the process of changing to a flexible tracker with Abbey (our existing lender) We have no defaults or CCjs registered but have late payments on credit cards showing. No missed payments though. Our mortgage has always been paid on time without fail in the 4 years we have been with Abbey. As soon as the flexi mortagage is set up I have to then apply to them for a credit limit review for the drawdown facility. The reason I am concerned we wont get this is because a broker we first went to see put us through the woolwich/barclays who would give us a mortgage no problem but not any extra in the reserve facility (stating the late payments were the reason). Our house is valued at 165000 and mortgage is 110800. Has anybody had any experience of Abbey looking at them from past history with them more than from the credit file. I have been completely honest with Abbey about what the woolwich said and they seem to think it will not be a problem when I come to do it but obviously they have to credit score.

Just looking for peace of mind really if anyone can help
Thanks guys
