I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know what else to say i am really seriously upset by this. It is never easy when we lose a pet they become like one of the family. I hope that you are coping ok.

That just made me well up!
I know its 'cliche' but time really will help.
I put my 15 year old Boxer to sleep in May in similar situation to you - i had her cremated and I am planning on having her made into a pendant necklace that i can wear all the time. I also posted a memorial for her on a pet memorial website- sounds wierd but it really helped the grieving process for me. I did it about a week later though when i could really put into words how i felt. It helped because it was like a final goodbye then you can finally move on and try come to terms with whats happened. Its like a virtual 'graveside'.
No one can take your pain away but just remember that your dog was VERY lucky to have had you to look after them - if there were more people like you around the world would be a better place and far fewer animals would be mistreated :o)

Ok, i've lost it now...... time for tissues!

    Best Wishes x
