is it bad time to be considering a career in mortgage or financial advice?

1) Edward Jones is a so-called IFA position, but...it is extremely noted as a hard-sell company! It is almost like working from someone's home! You can actually search the people within your postcode. Feel free to phone them. However, alot of bad reviews out there. Basic is really good for a graduate. Can expect around £22,500 - £25k if you are smart at haggling. But definitely telesales job. They have customer contact lists, and you shoot out to their houses. This company is more well know in america.
I dont believe they are allowed to call themselves IFAs as they dont offer a fee option. Whatever though, they are hard sales. Very slick normally but a modern day Allied Dunbar.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. Selling raincoats in the Sahara desert would probably be a better career option at the moment

Is this on a self-employed basis?
No one knows! No one knows!
My brain is humming the 'go compare!' song for some reason. The big fat guy with the moustache is irritating me.
Go compare! Go compare!

I think this is a great career direction - rather than advising on financial products:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

All in all, not a good time to be an Edward Jones rep, in my view.I am a Chartered Financial Planner

I believe they've just been bought by Towry Law. The feel seems to be that the salesforce will be significantly reduced, and that they will basically be recommending the Towry Law portfolios (apparently that's how they do business?) for a fee from now on.
All in all, not a good time to be an Edward Jones rep, in my view.
Towry Law are a pet hate amongst most IFAs as well. They claim a fee model and criticise heavily commission. Yet their fee is higher than the commission paid on investments. There is no fixed fee option. Most wouldnt have a problem with that if it wasnt for the highly vocal anti commission stance.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
