CSA - Definition of full-time education

I spoke to a supervisor from the CSA the other day, as part of my annual unsuccessful attempt to reduce my payments.
She told me that CSA liability for a child ends at 19 years old or when they leave full-time education - nothing new there!
However, she went on to say that when a child leaves school / college at 18 and then goes to university, that no-longer counts as full-time education, but is instead, Further Education, putting the "child" in the same class as if he was working or on benefits etc. Therefore no CSA payments for the NRP to make and the PWC to receive.
This means that your liability for CSA should end in September of the academic year that the child is 18, unless they repeat the 2nd year of A Levels.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Quite correct.
Uni is NOT counted as full time education for CSA purposes whereas college and 6th form is.
Anything up to Uni you have to still contribute...as soon as they go to Uni then your liability with the CSA ends0 -

Nice one!
That little piece of information will save me about £2000.
Thanks to the CSA supervisor, Loopy Girl and borders_dude0 -

Before you get too excited (sorry), don't assume that your CS will half as you will only be paying for one child.....CSA1 is a very complicated formula that is right up there with the Irn Bru recipe for people knowing!!!
There is a user on here, Kelloggs, who used to work for the CSA and is a whizz ay working out CSA1 calcs. If you PM her with all your details then she will be able to work out what your new liability will be.0 -

Thanks LG. Very chuffed, however, it would have taken a while longer had I not received an inheritance from a recently deceased Aunt (84); so, grateful as much as chuffed.
I'm now trying to adjust to being properly debt free for the first time since leaving school really, as I've always had loans/debts for motorbikes or cars etc.
