Aternoon all!
I need your advice, I bought my house last June. Recently red letters ahve been starting to come through my door.At first I just returned them "not known at this address," but they still seem to be coming thick and fast. I opened a letter, accidentally of course, from T-Mobile, which was basically a demand. I rang T-Mobile, after speaking to a number of bumbling buffoons spoke to a ladm, who told me that I'D need to prove that that he didn't live there with me, and that there wasnt a great deal they could do until he got in touch with his new details. Understandably I was upset. I'm constantly skint, always poor- but this is because I pay my bills on time, have a great credit rating, blah blah. The TMobile bloke told me not to worry as I wont suffer because iof all these debt letters, as it goes on the name not the house??? This is BS surely? Anyway, this morning got a letter kindly informing me that a bailiff will be calling next week. I'm at my wits end now. What happens if a bailiff comes, will I have to show them documentation proving that I bought the house last year?? I'm so angry!!!!!! Is there a way to stop letters that aren't for me being delivered?? I sometimes see the old owner in my local shopping precinct, I'm going to say something to him. In the meantime, what the hell can I do- please help..........

contact the credit rating agencies and try to see if the debts are attached to you via the house, if ti is, get it corrected.
I am sure there will be more helpful advice coming soon."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye
It's only teenage wasteland"

just show him some bills and they will leave quietly and humbly. Alternatively, copy the bills and send them to the bailiffs office0

The Bailiffs can not do anything to you, unless you refuse to show them ID, once you have done this they are mild mannered poppets0

Do not let them into your house though just incase. Inform them that is not your debt show them your proof that you own the house and when you bought it. then tell them to go away and not to come back.Barclaycard 3800

OK, dont panic.
The debts are not yours and cannot be connected to you otherwise he wouldnt have been able to sell the house to you. (If the debt is secured it has a charge which must be removed before sale)
Take a deep breath, copy documents proving you own the property ready for when they come round. Dont let them in though.
Theres also a website where you can put in details of people who dont live at your address to stop unwanted mail. Cant remember it at moment but will look.
