My husband & I took out a loan in aug 06 for £10,000 this was set against our property. In the 3 years since taking out the loan we have experienced a number of very difficult months as has everybody. However the loan value has now increased 3 fold to £30,000 with a settlement figue of £17,500. I dont know what to do about it surely this is not right. Any advise for me on what I can do.

You have not posted anywhere near enough information for anyone on here to answer your query.
What type of loan is it?
What is the interest rate?
Is it repayment or interest only?
Who is the lender?
Did you take out PPI with the loan?
How many payments have been missed or were late?
How much in the terms and conditions of the loan do they say they will charge you for missed/late payments? etc etc0
