Credit file post BR

Just checked my credit file and yep there are mistakes.
Funnily enough the one I thought would be worst, Capital one, was actually the only one marked correctly:eek:
HSBC, Natwest and my good old X5 finance company and 3 mobile are all showing later dates some by only a couple of weeks, tbh I'll just leave these, but 2 by nearly 4 months, so these I will challenge.
Hopefully going by Fermis guide should be easy:rolleyes:

I am also in the process of communicating with ex creditors. Like you Capital One have been no problem but others have.
I have written to 6 of my ex creditors using the templete letter from Fermis guide (thank you Fermi) and enclosed copies of my Bankruptcy Notice and Discharge Notice (printed from the insolvency website).
The 6 Creditors are :-
Lloyds Tsb (joint bank account overdraft - DH is also bankrupt)
Lloyds Tsb Personal loan
Lloyds Tsb Credit card
Littlewoods Catalogue (passed on the DCA)
Argos Additions (passed on to DCA)
Fashion World
All of the above are still showing a balance owing, my other creditors have either marked my file as in default but settled or partial settlement while others have marked my account as satisfied and settled/ partially settled.
I sent my letters out today by recorded signed for delivery so hopefully I can track these letters next week. I have kept copies of the letters I have sent with a receipt for postage for each letter.
Let me know how you get on and I will put any news I get on this thread.0 -
Hi,
Will do.
Also when I looked before I was only looking at the accounts that were showing a default. After looking further I have found that my settled or part settled accounts also have later dates.
As I'm going to be writing quite a few letters I may as well correct everything on their now. No point prolonging my attachment to BR even if it is only for a few weeks/months0 -
dont forget though once you send the letters leave it another month or two and apply for your files again to see if the information has been corrected...
if not then you can contact the information commissioners office to lodge a complaint....BUT fermis's sticky is pretty straightforward (I did it without help anybody can!)We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
I have sent letters my recorded signed for delivery about 3 weeks ago, I have tracked 2 of the letters and have had 1 reply that covers 3 of the letters that I sent out - All 3 were Lloyds Tsb. Lloyds have said :
Thank you for your communication, returned herewith.
Upon customer request and with evidence of completion of IVA/discharge from bankruptcy, LloydsTSB will arrange for credit files to be updated to show partially-satisfied/zero balance.
The Bank "satisfies" only when the debt has been repaid in full under the insolvency.
The letter came from their insolvency team. I will be keeping an eye on my credit file over the next few months to make sure it gets updated.0 -
Lloyds have now amended my credit file and put Satsified on the report, the amounts owed have now been removed. With Lloyds I had :
Personal Loan
Credit Card
Overdraft (made up of a years worth of Current account fees, bank charges etc)0
