Hi
I confess to having bought some readymade so called "fresh soup" from Tescos at the weekend. It doesn't give a use within x days once opened but its been opened since Sat. The use by date isn't up for a few days. Is it ok to eat this lunchtime or should I chuck it out?
thanks

If you're absolutely sure there's no use within x once opened, then it should be OK. To be safe you might want to bring soup to the boil first, although this could impact taste/texture. Oh and use your nose first, any odd whiff and I'd bin it!!You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

The sell-by date is only relevant if the soup is unopened. Once you open fresh food you usually need to eat it within 2-3 days. Personally I wouldn't eat it, but I suppose you could risk it if you want.0
