Hi, A friend of mine put me onto this stuff that helps to save water in the garden. Hydrostore. It's ideal for all types of soil and can even be used on it's own. It works by holding water instead of it running away into the ground. It's some sort of foam granule that soaks up moisture and retains it for a very long time. It also saves you from watering plants all the time, as the water is retained in the granules.
I couldn't find it in the shops, so contacted the distributer direct (There name is on the box) and they sent me some free samples. Contact David Hart on 01536 443000 and ask about these granules. They are amazing.
