Tescos Verses Boots

I normally buy my toiletries from Tesco when I do my monthly shop but as a recent holder of a Boots advantage card (following advice from this site) I was wondering whether I would be better off buying my toiletries from Boots. I mean things like deorderant, shower gel, toothpaste etc. Obvoiusly I keep my eye out for bog offs etc I was just meaning as a general rule is there anything much between them price wise?

Thanks in advance for your advice

If you don't mind stockpiling a bit then often the deals at Boots, combined with extra points mean that they are paying you to take stuff away; for instance for weeks last year they were giving 100 points on hand wash that cost 99p. Having accumulated the points I then buy things like toothpaste when they are on 3 for 2, ideally when they are giving a £5 voucher for a £10 spend.
I think Tesco is cheaper if you are not able to do any of the above- right now Boots is not as good for me as before Christmas, but apparently they have been like this for a number of years and will come up with offers in the future...

Also a lot of boots have reduced sections. If the item is on offer and you buy the correct amount you will get the offer. I have done that many times.

Also a Advantage card machine helps no end. As there are always offers for extra points. And if you are on the mailing list you get offers for free items and extra points.

If you join pigsback you can collect points then turn them in to boots voucher so you can get items for free or really cheap.

Tesco may often be a little cheaper, but usually it I have found that most of the offers in Boots go in rotation so if you are able to wait and stockpile as mcallister1 mentions then it does work out...however, it may be worth t hinking what you want your points for? With Tesco you could use a Clubcard for Airmiles (which is what I use mine for) so you are getting something back from either store and it is which is more attractive to you (in price and reward!)

Yes one thing can be cheaper one week, then more expensive the next. I also wonder if some people buy things from boots offers they will not end up using? lol

Cannot see what the point of Boots' retail stores is.
You can buy most if not all of their lines at Tescos/Asda and the like, and buy your groceries at the same time!

but Superdrug and, especially, Savers are often better than either unless there are big special offers on.
