tax in this country is a joke. the middle class are battered for being "rich" when they are not. if someone earns say, 60k, has a family and they are the sole earner (so no dual tax allowance), a large mortgage, bills, etc etc, they will be lucky to have anything left at the end of the month to save.
(this person isn't based on me by the way)
Why should this person pay even more tax that he can ill afford to subsidise low life chav scum and economic migrants?
Lets take dividend income, taxed at 37%. You buy the shares with money that has been taxed. The profits of the company are taxed, and then you pay more tax when you get your little share.
Lets take petrol. You go to the filling station to pay for petrol with your money that has been taxed. You then pay fuel tax on top. You then pay VAT on the petrol AND on the fuel tax. TAX ON TAX paid for by money that has been TAXED already!!
Lets take stamp duty. Why????? Why on gods earth should you pay tax to buy a home????
Tax should be set at 30% on all pay. That should be it.
The govt should then cut its cloth accordingly and if it can't afford all the nonsense it has been paying for, then tough luck.
You know it makes sense.0 -
If Horsey is neighing now, I think he has a shock coming 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

The govt has to do the right thing and tax the poor more. not the "rich".
you remove ALL state benefits, and have the highest tax band from 0-15k. This way, everyone pays and shares the pain.
Just because someone earns more doen't mean they should pay a higher percentage of their income in tax. It should all be the same. if 10% the man earning 10k would pay 1k and the man earning 100k would pay 10k. ten times as much tax.
