  • I have just insured some musical equipment, when asked about BR I told them yes I am. No monthly payments and the full whack up front was the answer back. I used my pals credit card and everything was fine, without which it would not have been fine.

but IF the question is "have you ever been bankrupt" then you do have to answer....its not worth the insurance firm finding out as the policy is voided and your details are then passed onto other firms

I dunno....they all think us bankrupts are an untrustworthy bunch for some reason....

So things have not changed that much for the BR, at least we don't get thrown in jail anymore, much to the annoyance of some I could mention;);)

  • Just another point on the musical insurance I have, included in the policy is £2 million pounds worth of public liability cover, this being needed for my job ( Performing musician) which I hope to carry on with later. The insurance company have insured me for work ( as in sole trader or whatever you want to call it) I have not been discharged, neither am I working (well not getiing paid ) if you get my drift.

  • Hi all, I have been reading around this subject and it scared the heeby jeebies out of me...

I didn't want to be in the position of a (touch wood) car accident where, due to my pending BR, found myself in the position of no vehicle insurance and, if in the event of having no third party / personal injury / legal support due to my pending BR, this would have been significant enough not to choose BR as an option.

I have checked the very small print of my car, household and travel insurance with Direct Line, as they provide me with all my policies (easier to keep these things in one place, I feel) and no mention of BR. I pay annually for my policies and always found their service, when I have needed to speak with them, really fulfilling.

So, on the lighter side of my pending BR, I dont have to worry about insurance and would like to pass this message on, if it helps?
