Scratches on laminate flooring

Hi, does anyone know how to cover up or fill in scratches on laminate floors? I have some, although not very deep. Is there any way of masking it?

Thanks!

  • Hi,

There is a laminate floor repair paste available.

    Google search:
    "Quickstep Mix n Fix"
    "unika color fill"

    I swear by this stuff......http://www.rutlands.co.uk/finishing-&-gluing/furniture-repair-&-restoration/repair---fillers/KO141972/hard-wax

I buy the kits from eBay. It comes in all colours and you can melt the colours together to get a perfect match. You also get the hot tool thingy in the eBay kits too.

There was a small screw caught under my bedside cabinet and when I pulled it out to hoover behind it, the screw caused a long white scratch in my floor. I also had a deep chip where I dropped a Stanley knife on it, it landed on the blade point.

Both now repaired and I defy anyone to find where the damage was. :D

I also bought a blue/black kit and repaired a scratch in my worktop.

I think it's brilliant stuff. As long as you take your time and have patience to do a good job that it.

It's personal choice as to what you get on with better, but I find the hard wax gives a more invisible and better result than the unika colour fill mentioned above. (Haven't tried the Quickstep product.)
