Tree Nurseries In The Highlands?

What type of trees are you after and what size?
The reason I asked is I posted a load of rowan tree saplings on freegle (the old freecycle) and had lots of response for them and they were snapped up. I've got another couple of saplings randomly growing and a 3 foot one in a pot (if there was a way to get it to you, you are more than welcome to it, although baring in mind it's losing it's leaves for the winter).
Also https://www.gumtree.com there is a guy on there (Dundee Gumtree again) who is advertising much larger saplings, just bring a spade and suitable transport and they are yours so to speak.
So, worth putting a "wanted" posting up on both of those in your local area and see how you get on. Many folks will be grateful that you are taking them away for them without the hassle.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thanks Cheekyweegit - Great name by the way.
I have a croft & have thousands of Rowan, Hazel, Birch & Willow. I too give them away & move them to form shelter belts. I was after some specimen trees to plant down the track. have picked up a few out of Morrisons believe it or not - Twisted hazel, a nice grafted pink willow thing, but would like some more & would pay for good stock.
Freegle is good, but unfortunately the nearest is over on the east coast - so missed out on some stuff & I'm too far off for most folks to venture to.0
