My daughter needs to buy this because she said thats the format that her College has got so she won't be able to put her work from her Laptop on a memory stick to print it out at College or just to open it there. Cheapest price as possible please.

The files produced by Microsoft Office 2007 are also called Office Open XML, OpenXML, OOXML, Office 12, .docx, .docm, .xlsx, etc. (other extensions).- OpenOffice.org 3 can open these files, but it cannot save in these formats.
if she chooses "save as" in Office 2007 and elects not to save in Docx format then it will not be a problem, you can open in in earlier versions of OfficeEx forum ambassador

Hello Kimberley
As a college student, your daughter could buy Microsoft Office at a brilliant price:cool::
Until 15 June 2010, Microsoft is offering university students the chance to buy up its software super-cheap. It's possible to get its new Windows 7 operating system for £30 (2 versions available), and its Office 2007 Ultimate package for £38.95.

The money saving option is to go for Open Source stuff like Open Office.
I have a laptop that I use for work which apart from the OS, uses only Open Source and free software.
From spreadsheets to word processing to audio editing, there is no need to swell Microsoft's coffers.0 -
I have just bought Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 (the whole Office package) from software4students.co.uk for my son for £35 plus £1.95 P&P. (This price is only valid until the end of October.)
Would highly recommend software4students as I've used them before and have recommended them to friends. You need to create an account and enter the name and educational establishment of the student. You can then legitimately install the software on a pc that the student uses and a laptop which is for their exclusive use (the wording is something like that).
Hope that helps.0 -
