Co-op Contents Insurance

Just thought I'd post this quickly to maybe put some peoples mind at rest regarding insurance.

Had to make a claim for accidental damage for my TV 3 weeks after going BR and only 6 weeks after changing insurance to the co-op. Nearly didn't claim with it being so soon but then thought I'm better knowing if I am actually covered or not so I made the call.

Anyway after the usual few weeks of phone calls, independent assessment and request for proof of purchase/ownership....They called tonight to say they are sending me a voucher to get a replacement :j

    Superb news..well done!

Hmm only wish royal sun alliance were as nice.....we claimed a few weeks after BR for a computer issue and the claim dragged on for weeks including 2 !! interviews at home to take statements of the accidental damage

Great, good insurance news at last!
    :D
  • Phil they did ask me in several phone calls (4 or 5 I think) the same questions over and over but I'm sure I suffered the same with my last insurance claim about 10 years ago. I'm just so happy they have come through as there is no way I could afford to replace it myself.
  • Great news - I am with co-op too xx

That is welcome news, I was starting to panic after reading other threads about not being able to get insurance or it being a lot more expensive after going BR.

check your policy wording....if there's no mention of bankruptcy then they dont need to know..wont matter what you claimed before bankruptcy so dont worry :D

I told them I was intending to go BR when I took the insurance out and they also asked me when I made the claim as part of the 'routine' questions, right along with have you ever been prosecuted for fraud!
  • Thanks guys, just checked and BR is mentioned :( I think to be on the safe side I will cancel the policy and restart it in my other halfs name, I dont want the policy to be void and if I tell them im BR the policy will go sky high, also realised the claim may also as it was after BR (wasnt much though if I was made to pay it back).
