Does the OR check your bank account?

I was granted a DRO last week, I just wondered how much monitoring the court/OR does of your remaining accounts?

I only have 1 bank account now and nothing else!

I can't see them having the time to check your bank account monthly to really make sure you only have £50 surplus or less - I don't have more otherwise I'd be:j!

I asked the Intermediary at Baines and Ernst when my application was submitted and she didn't really know the answer tbh.

Hope someone can help.

If its the same as bankruptcy I very much doubt they'll continue to monitor yout account..but as sieve said any financial changes need to be told..

You are obliged to tell them of any changes in income/expenditure when you sign a DRO or bankruptcy form though, so technically they don't have to as it is up to you to tell them.

Don't ignore a problem. Unlike a bad smell, it won't eventually go away.
  • I would be surprised if they check at all as when I applied for mine they didnt even request bank details and I cant see them calling every financial institution to see if you may on the off chance have an account with them.
If your income does increase also consider the fact that outgoings may increase too.
  • Thanks everyone.

I don't have any surplus or anything like that, I just wondered really.

I didn't see that they would have the time to check every month anyway!

  • I am bankrupt and have a co op cash minder if money paid into my account goes over a certain limit the bank has to inform the OR . The OR told me this but i have not been told what it is limit. The co op could not confirm this would happen

Wow Holes that's interesting (seeing as I'm BR & have a Co-op Cashminder account too) I wasn't told about that  wonder what the limit is? Lottery millions?
