>>Unfortunately it doesn't have HDMI.
Is this true? - I thought HDMI was one of the prerequisites to describing a telly as HD-Ready?
Can someone clarify?0 -
Hi Chrome, from what I've researched on this telly, it is HDCP compliant in which case it is HD READY. It has a DVI input socket and you can simply buy a DVI to HDMI convertor for it (costs a fiver on ebay) and it will work the same.
notakid, according to most of the people on avforums, only a certain batch of them had the subtitle issue with this Q321 TV. Whereby the Subtitles came on everytime you switched to Freeview, but you could turn it off manually. They just found it an annoyance rather than an actual BUG as such. However, one of the people there have contacted Hyundai and they have promised a new Firmware upgrade FREE OF CHARGE shortly for anyone with these issues.

I have also put their 40" (£979) one on a separate post.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
Got home and there it was waiting for me!

Took me 10minutes to set it up with my PS2/Xbox/DVD player and freeview and all working excellent! The picture quality is excellent! I'm going to be buying some new leads though for my PS2 as I'm using the standard Component Video wire (Red,White, Yellow) the quality isn't as good as it should be, so I've purchased some RGB cables for it! Should be good.
Also I tried plugging my PC into the TV and all I can say is... WOW! In fact, I'm posting this very message using my TV!

Mine came yesterday (should have been next monday) so very pleased. I think it looks better with the speakers not attached to the bottom but side by side to the unit. Its exac the same model for 739.00 only 35 left. But if ever I stray from the path I follow

As far as I am aware HDMI and DVI are the same in terms of video quality (depending on the equipment that you are connecting of course). The principal differences are that HDMI carries audio as well as video, and uses a different type of connector but both use the same encoding scheme, and that's why a DVI source can be connected to an HDMI monitor, or vice versa, with a DVI/HDMI cable, with no intervening converter box.
This is an alternative to the LCD or plasma, the Samsung WS32Z409T, which is a slim fit CRT with HDMI. a Lot of people seem to be buying them over on other forums. It's £385 at Empire Direct plus delivery. It all gets so confusing what to buy.0 -
how slim is a slim crt?0

About as slim as a normal TV. Possibly give or take a couple of inches at most.Target Savings: Deposit on my first property by September 2010>>>[Savings: 40.00% Complete]<<<[Debt: £0.00p]0 -
Just resurrecting this post as I'm trying to decide between the A321 model and the Q321 model both £599. As I understand it the A321 doesn't have freeview but does have hdmi socket - the Q321 has freeview and not the hdmi socket but another way of getting hd.
I have sky digital and live in meridian region where freeview is not available and not expected until 2012. We also have an overworked aerial and a poor terrestrial signal, so I'm suspecting that I wouldn't pick much up even if freeview was switched on sooner. Not really sure how it all works tbh.
I'm leaning towards the A321 for my own circumstances, just hoping someone can reassure that I'm doing the right thing. I keep reading that the hdmi socket is the best thing to have for future proofing.0 -
You can get an hdmi socket convertor for a tenner iirc, at least thats what ive read from avforums0
