After meetings with CAB and an Ip we have been advised =the best thing for us is to go Bankrupt and I feel totally shocked and sick.

my main worry is my parents finding out. Where will it be published? Is it in your local paper - what section ??

we have been told we wont lose the house as we are in negative equity?
We wont lose our car (on HP) ??

this all seems to good to be true?

your car depends on wether there is a clause in the HP agreement

if your house is in negative equity you should be able to keep it.

I dont think bankruptcy is published in local papers anymore. It is in the london gazette and on the insolvency website but no reason why your parents should find out.

My car was on HP and was worth less than the remaining finance so was told the OR would have no interest in it, 6 months after I was declared BR the finance company came and towed it away without any notification at all. So don't believe that particular bit!
