Cheapest place to buy Herbs And Spices?

Hi everyone.
I've just looked at the dates on my Herbs And Spices and they're all off or about to go off. I do a lot of cooking so I'll need to buy a lot of them. Where is the cheapest place? I dread to think how much this would come to if I went to the local supermarket
Thanks in advance for any help!

That's where I was going to suggest, they quite often have BOGOF.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
If you want the little jars, they are VERY cheap in Aldi, I always pick up any I am short of in there. Can't remember the price, but considerably less than you would pay for Tesco own for example.0

I'm pretty sure herbs and spices don't "go off" - they may lose a bit of flavour but they won't make you ill.
I get bags of herbs from julian graves which works out cheaper than supermarkets - although this might not be the best idea for you, you say you do a lot of cooking yet havn't managed to use up the stuff you have within its date
So maybe buying large amounts would be a false economy. one thing I have noticed is that buying the supermarket's own brands in jars, is cheaper than buying the branded stuff in the "refill" boxes. madness!August grocery challenge: £50
Spent so far: £37.40 :A0 -
I also suggest Aldi, stocked up myself the other day, they were approx 35-45pence depending on which one, I think the herbs were 35p and the spices 45p, for a typical sized small jar0

Hi,
If you're going to need alot, go to an asian supermarket. You'll get big bags very reasonably priced. If the quantity is too much, split it between friends and family and divide the cost between you.
We're lucky to have a really good store near us and I've shared bags with my best pal for years.Mirror, mirror, on the wall.I am my mother after all!0 -
Herbs and spices are often much cheaper on the 'world foods' aisles in the supermarkets than they are in the 'herbs and spices' aisle. You tend to get bigger bags too. Or as rhubarbcottage says, if you've got a local Asian (or Chinese) supermarket then they tend to be really cheap there. Turkish and Greek shops can be cheap too.0

Hambleden Herbs are giving 20% off all on line orders up to and including 31st October 2009.
The offer code is RCBS2234 and was active from 19/09/09.
The products are all Organic and Ethically traded, their website hambledenherbs.com has other offers and recipes. Good value for money and a fantastic product.....(I buy their Teas)....if your herbs and spices are running out on dates you might be better buying small packets only I guess0
