filling in SOA step 4 - creditors

Ok, so I am now trying to complete this SOA and am trying to fill in the creditors section.
I have about 10 credit cards and loans to fill in here. The cards haven't been used or paid for approx 2 years - we have just been getting threatening letters for all this time as the debts have been passed from company to company.
I am not sure what I am meant to put for "date incurred" (as the cards were used over a period of a few years... and they want to know the exact date!) and also "what was the debt for?" I cannot even remember half of the credit card companies, never mind how we frittered away the money and the dates that we used them. Please please can someone help me??

I put the date I opened the accounts where it said "date incurred". For "what was the debt for" I put general living expenditure for most of them. They'll ask in your interview anyway - it doesn't have to be precise.BR 08/04/09 | ED 02/10/09

Thanks, although I don't even know when the accounts were opened! We haven't kept any old paperwork at all. Shall I just make up dates?
A few of them were opened when we went to the Ideal Home Show and were bombarded with people persuading us to take out credit cards with 0% interest!0 -
do you have any idea of the years you took them out? If so, put, say, "Early 2005" or something - be as close as you can. It might be worth getting copies of your credit files as these will have the dates the agreements were taken out, along with their current balances. A big help for form-filling!BR 08/04/09 | ED 02/10/09

I know the balances as the debt companies keep writing and telling us them! Also offering to save us about 30% if we pay them off now.
The thing is there is a drop down menu thingy which has the dates on it and you have to choose the date, can't put early. I will just have to make one up.
One more thing.... my OH and I have a joint bank account, (which is overdrawn) - will this just be transferred to my name only? It was originally his account and he added me after a few years.
When the OR goes through the statements he won't know which transactions are for who, does this matter (should i start another thread about this?)0 -
i made up dates and they were never queried0

If you have time, order a report from Experian, Equifax or CallCredit and all your creditors, balances and dates the accounts were opened will be on there. You might want to do that in preparation for your OR interview anyway.BR 22/10/2009 ED 08/07/20100

I second what Trom says, I ordered my credit report online and garnered the account opening info from that very easily.
Each creditor features a date that you opened your account which made filling in that part of the form much easier than racking my brains trying to remember dates etc.

The Equifax report also has a handy list of creditor addresses at the back. Saved me a lot of time yesterday... right before the Insolvency website crashed and I had to do them all over again. :mad:BR 22/10/2009 ED 08/07/20100
