  • Hi,

With cooked chicken I’ve left it for days without any bother. If we have a roast chicken on a Sunday then leftovers will happily still be in sandwiches on Wednesday (if they haven’t all been finished by prying fingers whenever the fridge gets opened ;)). If you’re happy that you have a reliable fridge that’s set at quite a low temp then it should last up to a week but I think 5 days would be tops for me.

You probably could mix the curry sauce with the chicken safely but I’d recommend freezing them separately. It’s usually recommended to wrap the chicken as tightly as possible in cling film and then pop them in a freezer bag before freezing them. The idea is to get as little air around them as possible. If you did this and then stored the curry sauce in a separate container then you have more options when you come to defrosting (in case you didn’t fancy curry that night).

With popping corn any saucepan or similar should do. We use a wok as it’s large and has a lid. For obvious reasons a lid is pretty essential. For two people I use half a mug of popping corn, put 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil into the wok (heated to medium heat) then pour in the corn and pop the lid on. When the popping starts to become regular I give the wok a shake every 10 or so seconds so the kernels drop to the bottom of the pan. Then when the popping’s slowed right down I take it off the heat and pour it into a large bowl. We sprinkle it with a coupel fo tablespoons of caster sugar while it’s still hot (so it sticks better) or do the same with salt. I’m sure there are better ways but this is quick and easy (not to mention cheap!).

    Best of luck

    Nick

P.S. Sorry for the long reply. I get a bit carried away when talking food :)
