Personally I wouldn't risk it if you have a choice.
I don't have first hand experience of this but I have heard (and can imagine, since one knocked on my door once) HMRC bailiffs are far more eager to take low value things than an OR would. Eg cheap televisions, DVD players, microwaves (as long as you had a cooker) etc - an OR probably wouldn't bat an eyelid if you listed a £50 TV - whereas I would be very surprised if an HMRC collector let you keep it even if it would only raise a few pounds at auction.BR 08/04/09 | ED 02/10/09
