Help with dirty sofa please!

Afternoon all,
It's not as bad as it sounds (!) but we have a couple of sofas that we bought from DFS about four years ago; really nice but I've noticed they've gone a little dark around the top of the back cushions, where ones head would go (although ergonomically they're not quite high enough for this so it's not head dirt making them dirty!). I'm certain it's dust - we live in a dusty apartment and we're forever dusting but TBH we never considered dusting the sofas!
How would I go about cleaning these, bearing in mind we paid extra for scotchguarding (and therefore can't put them in the washing machine!) please?
Thanks very much for any help

Hoover them! If you have an upholstery or mattress attachment for your hoover, this will work really well - I'm not sure that it will get these marks out (depends how good your hoover is!), but it will certainly get rid of any moveable dirt!
You may need to wash any remaining marks by hand once you've hoovered them thoroughly.0 -
Our sofa is scotchguarded also and we use a bit of lemon and white vinegar in warm water with a cloth. I make sure the cloth is not soakin wet as the sofa will be too wet and can take long to dry...I then spray it with fabreeze and it's good to go for another 4 months or so (I like to give it a cleaning ever few months).

Do you have a steam cleaner or do you know anybody that can lend you one as that would get it clean in no time. I would test a patch underneath first and dont let it get too wet. If not buy some vanish carpet cleaner that lasts for ages and cleans really well, not old style tho , again dont let sofa get very wet.0
