in Credit cards
Asos (online company) sent me this email when I placed my first email:
I am very sorry if my previous email was unclear as this was not my intention.
Regrettably, due to linked negative activity on our systems (please note, this is purely based on activity linked to ASOS.com and no further companies), we made the decision to cancel your order and close your account. Due to the Data Protection Act I am unable to confirm details of this linked activity.
Please be assured this decision is not linked to credit scoring/rating or financial situations, or the value/content of the order.
When you place an order, you will receive an acknowledgement e-mail confirming receipt of your order: this email will only be an acknowledgement and will not constitute acceptance of your order. A contract between us will not be formed until we send you confirmation by e-mail that the goods which you ordered have been dispatched to you. Only those goods listed in the confirmation e-mail sent at the time of dispatch will be included in the contract formed.
I hope this has helped clarify your query.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly via email.
Best regards,
Do I have a legal right to know what "negative links" they are referring to??? I work in Finance and thus have an impeccable credit rating so I don't know on what grounds they could make this statement!!
Please advise

You could try a SAR (Subject Access Request). I think the max fee they can charge for this is a tenner.

do you live in rented accommodation?
could be down the previous tenants or just the area in general0 -

OP, are you financially linked to anybody else? Could they have had previous dealings with this firm?People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Simply living at the same address as a previous occupier with a poor credit history, should have no effect whatsoever.

whether it should or not doesn't mean to say they wont block the address themselves0 -
Thnx guys... you're all so sweet for responding!!! I can't believe I'm finally getting some help from someone.
No, I'm not living in rented accomodation. I'm not financially linked to any1... never brought a house or shared a bank account with ny1.
Will now look into the sar.
Thnx again guys.0 -

I think this could be more to do with what Synectics Solutions deal with, specifically the Mail Order Fraud System (SIRA) in that if you live in a postal area with lots of missed parcels then they will blacklist your street/house/you!
