Where to get cheap decent glasses (specs) online?

I'm posting this in grabbit as I've seen threads on glasses here before.
I got my prescription free from work through Dollond & Achison. But their glasses are way too expensive! Over £100 for a not that nice frame without lenses! (And the rimless ones I want are £170!!)
Does anyone know of/has anyone used an online glasses service? Any reccomendations? Cheers

This forum is filled with articles about on-line glasses - with a little effort I'm sure you can find them.0

Well, thanks for that informative post. Obviously, I have done a search.
No need to be so rude, we can't all have 20/20 vision to see every single post...0 -
I bought a pair of reading specs from https://www.glassesdirect.com they were £15 + £2.5p&p.
Loads of better quality ones there if you want to pay a little more. But mine are fine!!

Yep, I second that. Glassesdirect are brilliant. Excellent choice of frames and lenses. Fill in your prescription details on line and bobs your uncle !0

I have been reading all the threads on cheap glasses but am still worried about the PD measurement -has anyone gone in to the opticians and asked them to measure this ?0

You need an up-to-date prescription anyway, so if you're getting an eye test, just ask them to include that. If you've already got one, and it's not less than 2 years old, you could try ringing your optician - they should have recorded it, even though it may not be on the prescription they give you. Failing that, just ask a friend to do it - supposedly you can do it yourself in a mirror, but given that your eyes will have to move to check the measurement, I'm not entirely sure how that works. Most sites will use a default measurement of 61mm for women and 63mm for men.0

i know this isnt that useful - as its not online, but i brought my new specs from vision express and got 2 pairs for £100 inc lenses.
Lovely red ted baker ones and some other make ones!
£50 a pair inc lenses isnt bad (i have to wear them all the time)0
