Job - Does your employment contract have an anti-BR/DRO clause? Are you a Union member? Under law, you are not allowed to do any FSA regulated roles whilst BR (I think its the same under a DRO). And an employer cannot sack you for being BR/DRO; but read the small print on your employment contract ASAP and talk to your union. You can also make an anonymous call to the HR department too. Check this out first.
If you have nothing to live on now, can I ask how you think your kids are going to suffer? I know that sounds a tad rude but think about it logically. If you cannot buy them the greatest XYZ gizmo now, then they are not going to be in any worse situation because of a DRO. They are still allowed to attend clubs. They are allowed to eat and be clothed and be loved! A receiver is not going to take away any of their stuff either (or any of yours). What they get in return is a chilled out Mum, who will actually have a little extra spending each month. But a chilled out and happy Mum is the best thing they can have. So don't look at them suffering; look at what they will gain.0 -
Hi Helen
Have you paid into a pension scheme and have a plan worth £300 or more? If so then you cannot do a DRO.
You said you are on a plan with CCCS so give them a ring and they will let you know whether you qualify or not. They can then refer to the DRO team for further advice.0
