Hi all,
Strange thing just happened, went BR friday someone rang yesterday from OR office to just have a quick chat and said it would be a couple of weeks before OR rings and goes through forms.
OR just rang me for 15 minute interview no warning or anything, wanted to know why i got in debt what the money was spent on etc, told him all i knew without having the forms to hand. He then said i think i've got enough notes now, i'll send out an pack with info and interview letter dated today but if i don't here anything else good luck with my life and that was it.
Is that strange or will i have to do anything else

            Cool. Nope. Thats it.
If they need you again they will call/write.
Its not unusual. An easy case and a busy workload for ORs mean short and sweet interviews for some. Don't worry about it.0 -
Had mine yesterday. An hour and three quarters face to face! To be fair the guy was very nice and put me at ease - different from waiting in the waiting room where I thought I was going to burst into tears! Went through the forms, few questions on assets and debts. Said all our furniture would be exempt, my wifes car, the old PC we use, 2 timeshares and that I'd have a nil tax code for the rest of this tax year. The only thing he wanted to get his hands on apart from the equity in the house was the £1 premium bond I was given by my granny when I was born - apparently its policy to take any premium bonds ! Wonder if it wins the £1m if I'll get the change ! He did say something about the law changing so that early discharge would no longer be a possibility which I wasn't aware ofand that was about it. Gave me as list of some other bits and pieces he wanted and sent me on my way ...0

Jim, yours sounds like a beach compared to others who have been grilled.
Please for you that it sounded relatively painless. There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -

Hmm its been discussed no confirmation from any of the IS of yet though....basically they're considering stopping the ED process due to the fact of work involved..costs etc and not much gain to the OR's at the end....so most in the not to near future will be the full 12mnthsWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

I may have not considered all the facts here, but what are the most obvious advantages of ED anyway? There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0

advantages......not many
if no IPA IPO BRO/BRU is given then it means you no longer have to report to the OR's RTLU if you have a change in circumstance...We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Advantages are you can buy a certificate to hang on the wall for £60 plus frame . Think i would rather frame £60 though0
 -
The most obvious advantage's (well obvious to me anyway) are
Bankrupt: If you get a lumpsum 1 day after ED, you dont have to hand it over.
OR: Meant to encourage bankrupt to co-operate speedily so the OR can close the case quickerHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

I was told by our trustee back in march that the ED's may be stopping.
The feeling of releif when i got ED was massive, i no longer thought I had to 'comply' I felt better knowing i would not get any more telephone calls asking for information or money.
knowing I could win the lottery or get any other lump sum and keep it.
But to be honest apart from that i was happy to do the full term, they time went by so quickly 2 more month and i would be at my AD stage anyway...0
