Hi, I have been completely inspired to start a debt free diary after reading everyone elses stories!
My story isnt a negative one. My fiance and I are about to embark on some pretty big life changes ie everything bar having children!!
We are both late 20's and have realised that nows the time to get real in life and make some decent lifestyle changes. We have both talked about life in a warmer climate and with him coming from Cape Town, he wants to pursue the Australia dream, me I am still not sure. Anyway we are going there over christmas and new year to see what we think whilst catching up with some long lost mates!!
The second big life change is that we getting married, the wedding is in late March in fiance's home town, and all I can say at the moment is its stressful!
Then after the fun of that we are to put our little london flat on the market, to upgrade for a little house slightly further afield.
Neither of our salaries are anything spectacular and funding all three projects ourselves, which as im sure you will be able to appreciate has brought many challenges along the way.
Im not in a big amount of debt, but the real goal for me in this diary is to avoid getting into further debt and reduce the bit of debt that I currently have.
I look forward to sharing the challenges on the way, having some good advice or just a shoulder to cry on!!

Hey glad I got the introductions over, time to get down to business!!
Travel is a big issue for me at the mo! had bike knicked in the summer and dont have spare cash in budget to replace it yet. Wedding taking priority. So at the mo flitting between walking (grrr takes too long 1.5 hrs either way) and borrowing H2B bike. Unfortunatly he loves to cycle too! So starting today im in 20 working days of walking hell! Upside is lots of exercise & saving cash for wedding or trip. Actually its just a cost not budgeted for! doah!
I am also excited about the library books borrowed yesterday. Library very under rated. One close to me is modern, loads of new books. Much cheaper than buying them. Right im off, you know what im doing now!!2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello, today has been fairly low key!
We had a speech by new CEO, bit scary sounds like big changes at work! My concern is that I still have a job!!!
Today is day 2 of 20 days of walking hell and well was a bit of a surprise, the bad weather expected later on today didnt come and managed to pound the street and save an extra £1.10! yes not much but every little counts.2025 financial goals & challenges!

hi clarrissa, sounds like you had a meeting like the one i attended yesterday, just left me keeping my fingers crossed that i keep my job.
why don't you put the £1.10's in a pot and then see how it mounts up. It will be a nice little treat at the end of the walking hell

Hi Lemon tree such a good idea but the money saved on the walking isnt extras. its just money that wouldnt then have to come out of the recreational monthly budget (equates to just under £90). However saying that I have been doing a mental sum in my head!!2025 financial goals & challenges!

Well today and yesterday has been fairly quiet on the activity front. Just done the routine walking to and fro work and work of course so not much opportunity for spending which is fab (but a tad boring! Lol). I have of course done that obligatory money saving task of taking lunch to work too!! Home-made sausage casserole.... delicious!!
The one treat I have had was a journey on the underground this evening which was surprisingly really nice (not normally a big fan of tube).
Tomorrow we are having a night in, watching one of those free DVD’s in the Sunday times (motorcycle diary’s). Having that with a cheap bottle of plonk and dips, lush!!2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hi everyone, must say im glad its the weekend!!
Well its the first weekend of MSE diary and its going well so far. We are going to greenday tonight, a pressie for H2B 30th. His birthday was back in may. Last night had a MSE night in with dips, nibbles and one of those free dvds from the sunday times. Even the wine at £3 a bottle was a bargain.
Im a study widow again this weekend, will be glad when other half will be finished with his exams zzzz not that exciting.
Ive cleaned the flat, and just treated myself to a home made pedicure, was very fortunate to have all the bits and bobs in the house so no spending there except the bowl for dipping feet in, well worth it at just under a quid.
Spending so far this week has been really good, really low and so pleased the weather stayed nice for walking and only resorted to tube for one journey out of 10 which i think is pretty impressive.
Right well i hope you all have a fab rest of Saturday and Sunday and will be back for a fresh update very soon.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Ok so progress report this week, only used underground twice during the week which isnt bad. However spending has been a bit more than usual because of some outings with mates and stuff. Was good though. Monthly spending allowance now severly depleted, hey ho thats they way it goes!
Saw some lovely christmas things in london today but didnt buy anything except lunch and travel card. Right im off to find the tv remote, OH has lost it!! lol2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hi Clarissa
How's it all going? Sounds like lots of exciting things going on
I am also keen to be free of debts and get married, but we are spending lots (wedding savings - oops) on a trip to South Africa this New Year for a friend's wedding! I'm not complaining though; I get to go on safari
Well done on the walking - I think I'd have given in to the temptations of the tube by now...
Keep it up!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
