nil tax code

hi first post on here.i went bankrupt back in july .ive been self employed in construction for 25 years .today received a letter from moonbeaver to say i am to go on 0% tax code.i thought it was for paye people .i am on cis construction scheme where whoever i work for stops 20%.the thing is i could work for someone different everyday or not work at all as there is very little work dec/jan time and so i dont get paid.thanks for any advice

you need to contact your OR and explain the situation to them, they should know this alread so why they have instructed moonbeever is beyone me...

hi thanks i got the form from or and phoned them explained situation.she said to sign it with a letter and she would investigate and tear it up if i didnt need it.now today had first letter from moonbeaver.am waiting for someone to phone me from there.

As your aware you have no tax to pay to them, you are classed as self employed. You could do work on a CIS basis for 200 or more clients! haha id like to see them do that.. unless of course they issued you with a certificate to give each of your 'employers' so they dont deduct the tax but it would not fall into line with their records. I presume you fill in a tax return? give them your UTR number..
