Uniform - laundry rebate?

Hi All. I while ago I read on this forum that if you wear a uniform for work you can claim some money for washing it. Does anyone know about this  Thanks

I looked into this a while back for my uniforms. It worked out as £1 a week but the forms were completely impenetrable  ....and I gave up.

You dont need to complete any forms to claim a deduction for laundry of uniforms. You just write to your tax office and claim the allowance due.

You may find it has already been done via the employer check your tax code it may be slightly higher than normal to include the uniform laundry.

In my previous job we used to be supplied with a uniform (polo shirts & trousers etc)
someone informed us about a tax allowence towards the uniform

we had to fill in a form with the local tax office, resulted with us all in the dept getting about £45 per year, this was about 10 years ago

after filing the form in we got the allowance every year

better in your pocket than there's
