Lest confuse the debtor!!

I have had a letter this morning very cleverly written to as not to ask for any money but suggests ways to pay instead!

Who is it from???? Credit Account Management Ltd is whats written on the letterhead. Tenon are listed as the debt collection agent and provide their contact details to contact. Phoenix Recoveries (UK) Limited S.a.r.l are the people to whom the debt has been assigned and they act on behalf of SDFS Recoveries. The registered office address at the bottom of the letter head does not match Tenon's or Credit Account Managements address.

So who do I not owe this money to then?????
(This is a trick question as I obviously don't own any money!)

I have emailed them to pass on my BR details and to ask them to politely bog off. Just thought you may find the general confusion a tad amusing this Monday.

The methods are becoming more and more sophisicated......and we become finer tuned to the tactics these DCAs use that are seemingly from some X file annual or something.

a question....why do we BR's seem so keen to assist these errant DCA's, by telling them at every opportunity our BR details?

    [apart from enjoying MicheH's observations?]

Surely we should totally ignore them, file 13 and all that?
Is there ANY obligation to inform a DCA of our BR, if they are trying it on....post BR?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

You're right. We have no need to tell them. I am just too damn nice!

or....do you really relish thinking about the look of dismay that will appear on the DCA's face....even over the phone?

  • Hi Skylight I have received a letter today from the same people about a debt I do not owe. £210.93. I received a similar letter two years ago from another dodgy outfit called Mackenzie Hall quoting Phoenix Recoveries etc for the same amount of money £210.93. I am not going to reply to them but have read on other posts that they put the debt onto people's credit files so am going to check mine out. Does anyone know if they are allowed to do this?

I had one from RMA, a Mr Green, telling me I had to make myself available yesterday as they were going to "contact" me. I chuckled to myself and binned it. There is no way they can phone me as I have had my number changed (what a godsend that was) and I knew the possibility of anyone actually calling was small. What bugs me is that I have informed all my creditors of my pending BR, but I still get the letters from them. With hindsight I should have saved postage money and not bothered. Funny how RMA`s staff are all named after colours.
