Has anyone made a little bit of money from Paid Surveys?

Options
Hi

I need a little bit of extra income of around £100 to £150 a month and I was wondering if I should join some paid survey sites. I have heard a lot of negative things about paid surveys but just wanted some advice as to whether I should join and do a few online surveys and if anyone has done so have they made a little bit?

thanks

  • i think you will find it very hard to make £100 to £150 from surveys.
onepoll, pureprofile, pinecone, lightspeed panel and thatswhatithink are my favourites. I find you will make more from daily clicks and the no spend offers on cashback sites, and matchbetting.

  • I use Valued Opinions, GFK and Toluna. So far I've had £10 (taken as Amazon vounchers) from GFK, I'm £12.40 up from VO (although only validated on £4.75 at the moment - minimum payout is £10 in your choice of vouchers), and I'm a long way off getting anywhere with Toluna.

It's play money only - it's not really a serious cash top up option.

I have used a few (Valued Opinions, OnePoll, You Gov). A few of them depend on you clicking on to the site to find out if they have a survey available to you. I've found that, for me, Lightenspeed are the best. The seem to have regular surveys for me and I have earned £20.00 with them in 3 months, and also had a couple of sample products to trial. However, i dont think you could make the sort of money that your looking for doing surveys

I've earn't £184 over about 4 years - not a particularly good rate for the total amount of time I've spent on surveys.

If you do a few survey sites plus a few 'earn a click' sites and maybe the odd little extra you can find, you might make that much.................................................. Per year! :)

I kept a spreadsheet of daily click & surveys earnings for the last couple of years, just out of curiosity:

    2007 £1300ish
    2008 £1500ish

Daily clicks aren't what they were, but it's the kind of income that can add up surprisingly.
  • dont forget all the no spend offers like napster, dvd trials and car insurance searchs.

I'm finding that completing surveys is a nice little earner.

So far this month I've made £79 - from Ipoints, Toluna and Pure Profile.
Last month £143. Payment includes a couple of extended surveys with Home of Research and VO. During August I earned £36.

A proportion of these payments are received in vouchers, and they're great when hitting the High Street.

Am currently completing a couple of diaries for VO and they are definitely my best 'earner' at present.

Sign up with several survey companies and complete as many as you can.

    Good luck

I make a little bit extra from surveys and the like but it's mostly been vouchers and not hard cash. Off the top of my head, I've redeemed £20 from Toluna (still waiting on the second voucher and am 2/3 towards a third redemption), £20 from Lightspeed, £60 from Consumerpulse, £50 from Valued Opinions, and £10 from That's What I Think. In terms of cash, that's amounted to around £5 from Lightspeed and am close to a £15 payout on Surveyhead.

Surveys can be a great way to earn vouchers to help out with Christmas costs (and other presents) but I don't personally earn much cash from them and certainly not the amount extra that you need. I don't use them anymore but there is the option of YouGov and Pureprofile, who I think still pay in cash (although it took too long to reach redemption for me). If you don't mind writing reviews, DooYoo can be a good additional earner. I've had £100 in cheques and £30 in Amazon vouchers this year from them, although it's fairly time-consuming to write the reviews to a good enough standard.
