Hi guys

I am new here and i am currently in a complete mess. I am trying to get myself out of the debt i have made but im finding it really hard.

The first debt i have dealt with this morning is from Commerical Collections.
My Debt is £185 and they have built it up to now £429.

I asked if i can pay the full amount of £185 and then they could maybe reduce the fees. however the girl was rude and said there is no way and i am going to pay every penny. I suppose thats £429 of my money gone.. i agreed to pay £35 a month which she told me was minimum. I said "and thats the minimum so thats what ill pay". It just seems we get stung for so much money.

Im trying to work on one at a time. but im feeling sick and stressed im only 28 and im sinking. I have a load of other debts im working on aswell one is in court from Alliance and Leceister (well they say its in court). Its for a bank account i never used and they have added £528 worth of charges for not using it.. how can this be legal?

I also have one from Harlands gym. I went into the Gym and asked to maybe look around and such. The lady said i could do an induction and if i dont like it i can cancel. I signed the paperwork and then the doctors advised me due to my leg injury it would be better to swim. I rang and cancelled the induction and was told that i couldnt.
I now find i have been to court! and i have now got debt collectors following me around.

I know i have been a complete idiot but i need help...

I just wanna clear it all and im trying to do this. But seriously do they have to be so nasty.

Any help would be apprieciated.

Thanks

Vicky

Firstly £35 per months is NOT the minimum. The minimum is what you can afford, not what they decide you can afford. Debt collectors setting a 'minimum repayment amount' is absolutely nothing more than bullying tactics.

Have you contacted the CCCS? They can be a tremendous help for people in your situation, and will help you put together a financial statement. This would be sent to your creditors, and the likes of Commerical Collections, as proof of your income/expenditure and would offer repayments that you can manage based on this.

First, have you set up a DD and given these puppets at Commercial Collections, you're bank details? If so, do it now, ring your bank and cancel any DD you've set up with them, back up your telephone call to the bank by putting it in writing, never, ever, ever, give anyone who you're in dispute with your card / bank details, write to those puppets at Commercial Collections, inform them you've cancelled your DD and request a payment book, if they refuse, ask them what part of OFT they're referring to.

We need to know more about this so called court case with A&L, can you elaborate more without disclosing specific detail, if this is a “Court case” this requires your priority.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

Hi thanks so much for your feedback guys. I am going to contact the people you mentioned. With regard to A&E i just got off the phone to them and they advised me its frozen and on hold until the court case with regard to Bank charges is finished. Once finished if it goes in favour of the consumer then i will get it written off. If however the banks win i will have to pay. So the ladt i spoke to before was unclear. This is a bit of a weight off my mind.

Please keep us posted with reference to the bank charges for the account you never used. Would be interested in hearing the outcome of that, should you see fit to share it. :)
