charge for phone calls about a loan???
i have a loan with very (well catalogue account) and they sent my 1st bill while i was on holiday and the payment was due 2 days after the bill was sent so surprisingly enough the payment was not with them in time. I had to wait til i had been home a week til payday so could try to settle my bill - payment was overdue by 2 weeks by this point! i had phoned the company already and informed them of the situation but received a phone call the day before i could make the payment telling me i was in arrears. When my next bill came i realised that i had been charged £18 for a late fee (expected) and also £18 for them having to phone me!!! surely this is an unfair charge as i had explained to them already and had to pay for that call. Seems a lot of money for 1 phonecall which was unnecessary. Advice???

Egg 'got away' with £16, so £18 isn't far off it. I agree it is excessive for what is someone phoning you because 'the computer said so', but I think you have a fight on your hands to do anything about itStarting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
