Abbey Process - How long after AIP til formal offer?

We have recently got an AIP from Abbey, they say that our application has been agreed subject to satisfactory Valuation Report and/or References) and that a mortgage offer will be sent out soon.
However, we have already had a valuation done. How long can we expect to wait for the formal offer to come through? (Also, do Abbey always require further References - if yes, how much longer will that take?)

we applied on a monday and got a.i.p. valuation done thursday recieved mortgage offer in post saturday morning all sorted in 1 week. think we were very lucky0
