How long should I keep my Runner Beans,canes etc., for before I put away for winter?

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Usually the first decent frost will hit and that is them done for! You can cut the plant off just above soil level (leave the roots in as they will rot down releasing the collected nitrogen stored in the roots), and then place the large pods in a dry shed, greenhouse or conservatory to dry out.

    You can then shell these, use them dried in soups or for planting for next year.
