Egg Loan Help Needed Please!

Evening All.
My OH and I need some help with a problem he's having with Egg, I'll try keep it brief!
Approx Oct 06, OH was made aware that joint account from his ex wife was 2k+ overdrawn.....OH not aware account still open, as should have been closed when divorced. OH was trying to get mortgage, but couldn't due to arrears on account, was told liable to settle debt even though bank could see it was ex using account, not OH. OH settled account, paid off overdraft.
OH received a letter approx 12 months + ago from Cabot financial services, saying he owed £150 on an egg loan - he telephones as know nothing (his ex wife has bit of a thing for running up debts in his name) They said 2k loan taken out in Nov 03, regular payments had been made, (by ex wife from joint account) - when OH closed joint account, £150ish was left outstanding on egg loan - ex wife didn't make any more payments.
OH requested egg loan agreement with his signature on, over the past 12 months, they keep writing to him saying they are dealing with his request, and will be back in contact. Fast forward to now, he has received a letter from them enclosing a statement of account from Egg, from Nov 03 to Sept 09 - showing £150 still o/s. No sign of agreement or proof that he took out the loan. OH has emailed them to yet again request the loan agreement.
Can anyone out there advise on next course of action? Can we give them a time frame and tell them to bog off if they cannot provide what we have requested? OH is sure that ex wife has done this, he has no recollection of taking out a loan. It might only be £150, but he's had to pay the overdraft, a £6.5k credit card (she was authorised card holder and ran up the debt on her card) as well as her gas and electric bill, and we are both getting pretty hacked off with it!!
Another point we have considered is the impact on his credit rating from this - can this be reversed if they a) cannot provide evidence that he took the loan or b) his ex wife has forged his signature?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Minky x

If Cabot have already wrecked his credit rating because of this, paying off the debt will not help. They will simply mark the default as having been paid. Which will be as bad as the default itself.
So. No agreement. No requirement to pay. Unenforcable. And I can't see Cabot going to court for that amount anyway.Cabot can now kiss my DONKEY. Statute barred is enough of a result, but the actions of the CABOT FAN CLUB have cost them far more than the paltry sums they were chasing us for. :beer:0
