Good luck Pigpen. Don't bite anyone :p

    Happy Birthday PenPen

lala - your manager is absolutely out of order and totally unprofessional. Do you have a good relationship with her manager? Or with another member of your management team who you could discuss the issue with in confidence. Talk to your team, and make sure that you have all documented the meeting in case it comes up at a later date, as details can become inconsistent over time if you don't have paperwork to refer back to.

Didn't make it to swimming this morning... my ankle was irritating me and it is also making clothing decisions more difficult!

Suppose I should do some work now... :o

ETA - landscaping guy has just called - my hedge, cherry tree, ceanothus and eucalyptus at the front are coming out next week, and the lawn being dug up to make a nursery bed! Anyone want to come round and help move the plants from the back garden???

I am freezing now after supervising the 4 highways men for 1 1/2 hours! Good news is they think they have solved my problem but not the one in the road - time will tell.

    Think I'll test the heating!

Great news on the drains Dusty. Fingers crossed that it has worked this time... as you've been supervising them, hopefully they've done the right thing this time

As for the heating... it's important to test it regularly... but only when absolutely necessary. Unless you really can't afford to pay the bills, don't leave it off just for the sake of it and get cold, but don't put it on when it isn't needed.

Star for today please lovely Toots!!! :j:j

Jtb and Roespink, thanks - She lacks people skills that’s for sure. We really don’t want to rock the boat, we’ve come this far and think she’s capable of making life difficult for us. She’s demanded an audit of our work and cancelled the next team meeting (wonder why), this is the only chance we all get together - we cover a large geographical area so value the chance to see each other!

She’s told us that we can’t organise Christmas cover between ourselves and that she’ll do it for us because she doesn’t want us to become childish and she said she’s not going to put up with game playing. So, we’ve got to apply for either “the week before”, “the week of” or “the week after” Christmas! We can’t cross weeks - eg Tues to Tues….! We’ve also got to go to the office and can’t be on call - given that the office is 40miles away I’ll struggle to get to any of my service users if they need me urgently. If too many of us apply for the “week of” Christmas she will literally draw straws instead of giving us the opportunity to get together and sort it.

We’ve always been allowed to remain on call wherever we are and to make some time over Christmas to ring/visit our service users if they need it. Also, since when was the “week after” Christmas considered part of a Christmas holiday. Really sorry to moan, just so frustrated. I tried to point out that we're all grown-ups and that not only are we colleagues but we are also friends and wouldn't dream of letting each other down - I'll work every day over Christmas if thats what it takes for the team and I know everyone feels the same, we are just so offended!

Hope you’re feeling better today Froddy.

    Mudbath and GnB-
Don’t our children worry us, glad they are both on the mend and at home, such a relief and the best place to get better!

Smiley - think we joined at the same time. I’ve got Bro, SiL staying at the weekend are really relaxed about it - normally dread them asking! Well done! I was watching “how clean is your house” at the weekend and felt very smug!

Soappie - Jeff Goldblum…..? Guess that means Daniel Craig is safe for me to keep! :j Good luck with the work.

Hi Toots and Lady L! :hello:

Fedup - You’re holding up amazingly well, you should feel very proud of yourself.

Hollyh - ouch! Hope DSS is ok! I bet he’ll enjoy showing off his “war wound” eventually!

Poohbear - Glad Pooch is ok.

Welcome to newbies! This is a lovely little team and are very supportive, I'm sure you'll feel very settled here! Good luck keeping up with the thread, its like Grease Lightening! :rotfl:

Hugs to all, sorry if I've missed anyone, certainly not intentional! :A
