Not sure if this is the right board, as it's not a time limited offer, but will be while stocks last.
Purple Ronnie (that's the jokey cartoon stick man aimed at blokes) gift sets are all down to under £2, from £5-6 at our local Asda. Range includes Morning after kit (£1.97 - battery tooth brush and mini radio with headphones shaped like a toothpaste tube, which I bought), Personal Hair clipper (£1.12 - bought also), Baldies set (£1.49 - battery shaver, mirror, and some stuff they call bald head polish! bought also), Cheesy Feet (£1.30 - presumebly somthing to do with socks, would have bought but sold out)
Once you get past the garish colours of yellow and you guessed it purple, they are perfect for birthdays, fathers day and - you guessed it - next Christmas. Park Royal had loads left but stock varies store to store. I was just suprised to find anything worth buying at all!
BARGAIN!

My local Asda had these last week with a measly 1/3rd off, and the shelves were full....and staying that way! Posh Xmas crackers still full price too! Quite disgusted I was
I think I'll pay them a visit 2morrow...see if they've caved in and slashed the prices yet ;D
Thanks for the post, these sets are very handy for blokes, who I always find it hardest to buy for. There's only so many times you can give your brother socks lol.0 -
*NEWSFLASH*
Forgot to mention that I was actually warned by an assistant (sorry, collegue) to make sure that the correct price came out when scanned. This is the heartbreaking bit. I only had £40 on me, and had picked up 5 sets (plus other shopping), so didn't have enough to go through, pay full price then get my money back, plus the £2!! Don't you just hate it when that happens? It did too, might go back tommorrow.........................."Excuse me, this expires today, will you be reducing it?"0 -
Yay - I got some ;D
"Only" had the Hangover and Baldie Giftsets - and they weren't marked as being reduced further...but I asked for a price check and hey presto - under £2 each ;D
Thanks for letting us know about this!!
Also had loads of other stuff, which wasn't apparantly reduced much, but scanned through at rediculously low prices - gold Christmas vases from £4ish down to £1. Other nice vases reduced from over £7 to £1.49. Calculator in a presentation box about 50p. Football game thingy from £5ish to £1ish Loads of other stuff - well worth a rummage!!
My pressie box is nice and full again, and even got quite a few stocking fillers for Christmas ;D0 -

we got a few items in asda today but was really angry at their customer service. they had 75% off shelf edging and nothing had the correct price tickets but discount was applied at till except purple ronnie stuff. we only wanted one of the hair trimmers which came through at £4.49 when it should have been £1.12 spent 25 mins arguing with customer services to get nowhere. they wouldn't admit they were wrong and stated that the purple ronnie stuff was dearer before xmas and £4.49 was the reduced price (bull). we argued that it shouldn't have been in that section if it wasn't reduced.
do you think i should email head office? married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
I bet they're not selling many at that price, lol.
Yeah - phone or email h.o. Can't do any harm!!

WHAT?!! There is no way I would have left the store with them. I did say that I was warned that they would scan wrong. Deffinately email HO, don't bother phoning as IMO you will either get fobbed off or your enquiry will go astray.
On the same note, I went in yesterday to get more, was bizarrely charged correctly for one and undercharged by 1p for the other same set. I got back the 1p (!) and got my £2 comp on my shopping card, the total for next christmas is coming along nicely........."Excuse me, this expires today, will you be reducing it?"0
