Are these the dry pasta tubes or filled tubes?
If they are dry pasta tubes i normally fill mine with a spincah and ricotta filling or a dry (by this i mean very little liquid left in it) bolognaise and cover with a tomato sauce.
If they are filled tubes just cover with a tomato sauce and bung em in the oven!

Here are some delia recipes for cannelloni. For some she uses lasagne sheets, but you can easily substitute the pre shaped tubes, and also you can use your cannelloni tubes instead of her pancake idea for the last recipe.
Traditional italian dishes with cannelloni would be with them filled with ricotta and spinach, or a meat sauce. Then bake in the oven with a cheesy/tomato sauce on top. Really easy to make and a million times better than pub/ready meal versions.

I also use a bolognese mix to fill mine, but then I cover with double cream and a good sprinke of grated cheese before baking.
It's delicious, but not something you'd want to make too often with all that cream.
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

I fill mine with bolognaise sauce, then cover with a cheese sauce and some grated cheese.

It's like lasagne but in tubes rather than layers!
Here I go again on my own....

Alternatively you could fill them with a mix of ricotta cheese, cooked chopped spinach and chopped toasted pine nuts. Top with a mild spicy tomato sauce and bake in the oven. Yum!

just think of them as pasta and use any sauce you would for any pasta :)

i like then with the spinach / cheese filling as above or pancetta / mushrooms cooked down in creme fraiche and herbs etc

very nice filled with chilli too :)

    Hello,

I am going to attempt my first ever Canneloni tomorrow and could do with some help over the recipe :o

Does anyone have an old family recipe they swear by ? or anything thats a must add ingredient ?

Im not a natural chef but I manage a lasagna using the lazy method of jars (mince, jars + cheddar) but I'd really like to make it a little more homemade than that,

    Any help appreciated !

    mishka

PS I can go shopping for ANY ingredients tomorrow but im on a tight budget so dont want to be wasteful :)

There's a nice Jamie Oliver recipe for spinach & ricotta cannelloni HERE.

I haven't had cannelloni in years, you've put me in the mood for it now :D
